Notes from the Importer: Named after Davide’s daughter, this is a white wine made of sixty per cent Garganega and forty per cent Pinot Bianco from limestone soils. After a week on the skins, the wine spends eight months in concrete vats. As usual, this is a balanced, joyful white at low abv - notes of orange zest and nectarine with a touch of balsamic and dry herbs - with a more pronounced minerality and richer texture due to the increase of Pinot Bianco in the blend.
Originally from Vicenza in Veneto, after school Davide decided to study enological sciences in Toulouse, an experience that led him to work first in Bierzo and then in the Chianti Classico area for about ten years. In 2018 he returns to his native land to start a family with Veronica and give life to his own project.
Davide farms around five hectares on the eastern side of the Colli Berici, a charming group of hills of sedimentary origin, composed of silt-clayey soils, rich in limestone rocks with a basic pH. Thanks to the position of the vineyards, surrounded by woods and well ventilated, the quality of the fruit is luminous, and with the wise work of Davide, the resulting wines are always incredibly balanced, genuine and accessible.
He works without the use of chemicals in the vineyard and without forcing and manipulation in the cellar, with natural fermentations and the use of small amounts of SO2 at bottling, only if necessary.
