Notes from the Importer: Winemaker Cesar Fernandez Diaz's winemaking philosophy is simple: to make wine that he likes to drink. He achieves this by following a 4-pillar approach, creating a unique identity of minerality, elegance, acidity, and austerity in each wine.
2020 was perhaps a better vintage than 2018. It was also a cold and humid spring but with a summer of contained temperatures that were neither too high nor too low. The grapes were slow to ripen without big heat spikes or cold dips in temperature. September was mild and the plants were happy. The result is wines with good acidity and balanced ripeness. The wines of this vintage (still to be finished) appear to have a very good aging potential, electricity, character, freshness, and minerality.
