Notes from the Importer: Julien Prevel, aka Juju, is the new winemaker who has taken over Stephane Cossais's vineyards. He was born in Brittany on March 9, 1982, and initially worked in a completely different field to wine. He worked for a bath sales company, but wanted to work in nature, so he worked in the fields near Tours. Later, his interest shifted to grapes, and at the age of 28, he enrolled in the winemaking school in Amboise to make wine. Even before enrolling, he helped with pruning Franz Saumont. He was taken care of by Franz during his internship, and that's when he really encountered natural wine. There, he drank wine that was completely different from the wines he had studied at school, and the grapes really came out in vivid flavors, and he decided that he wanted to make natural wine like that!
Franz and Stephan were best friends, so Franz approached Stephan's wife and asked her if she thought it would be a good idea to entrust the vineyards left by Stephan to a young man like him. Things went smoothly. Then, in 2014, Julien Prevel officially became the owner of Stephane Cossa's vineyards, and a new winemaker was born.
